A Little About the Bookstore
Communitea Books is a new, used, remainder, rare, and collectible bookstore based in Boerne, Texas.
So, what does it mean, exactly, to be a new, used, remainder, rare, and collectible bookstore?
CommuniTea Books buys, trades, and sells books that are:
Brand spanking New, hot off the press from the publisher, books that you would find on the current releases, and reading lists. As well as, forgive the expression, old books that have been re-released. New books are books that have not been previously owned, regardless of their publication date. These books are priced at their current list price, as printed on the back of the book (unless you have a coupon or membership that offers store discounts).
Used books, books that have been previously owned. Used books are priced at 50% the current list price.
Remainder Books, remainder books are new books that have been printed in excess, and have been liquidated, and sold back to remainder book distribution companies, and resold at exceptional prices. Remainder books are priced under %50 list price.
Rare Books, are, as the name suggests, books that are somewhat, nearly, or extremely difficult to find. Like collectible books (signed, first edition, etc.), Rare Books are priced at, just below, the current market value.
Collectible Books, are first printing, first edition, early printing, signed books that maintain value, though the value may change with the market, these books are an investment, a bragging right, and really cool on your bookshelves! Collectible Books are priced, just below, market value (unless otherwise impossible (i.e. a Signed, First Edition of The Old Man & the Sea by Ernest Hemingway).
*Disclaimer
Our pricing is decided by the owner, and does not necessarily reflect the pricing model of other, seemingly competitive used bookstores. *I have made a strong effort to price my books, especially the rare and collectible books, below the average price of books that share the same publication date, publisher, and are in a similar condition (which is to say that you may find the same book priced lower, however the condition of that book is very likely in worse shape than my copy).
